As Stephen Gallacher prepares to make his Ryder Cup debut, son Jack has already chalked up a team triumph.

The 13-year-old joined forces with Adam Cairns, Jordyn Rhind and Malcolm Anderson to win the Katie’s Cup at Kingsfield.

They beat 25 teams in the annual charity tournament staged at the Linlithgow course by owner Robert Arkley and his sister, Jane. This year’s chosen charity was the Liver Trust in memory of Dante D’Onofrio, who was a close friend and member of Kingsfield. The 25-year-old passed away last year from Wilson’s Disease, a genetic condition that attacks the liver.

“The total raised from Katie’s Cup this year was over £13,500 with money still being donated,” said Arkley.

“We would like to say a warm and heartfelt ‘thank you’ to everyone who came along and supported the event.”
