Lothians stars in bid for EoS Open hat-trick

DEFENDING champion Allyn Dick spearheads the Lothians challenge in this weekend’s East of Scotland Open at Lundin.

“I’m looking forward to it,” admitted the former Scotland international of the trip to Fife. “It’s a course I always enjoy and one that is always presented in fantastic condition.”

Dick, whose home club is Kingsknowe, warmed up for the Golf in Dubai-sponsored event by winning the Gullane 36-hole Open last Saturday then claiming a ninth club championship at Shotts the following day.

Others crossing the Forth in a bid to complete a Lothians hat-trick – Baberton’s Paul Ferrier was the 2011 winner – include Dunbar duo Danny Kay and Zander Culverwell.

n HOSTS Kilspindie were one of the casualties on the first day of the County Cup in East Lothian, losing 3&2 to Gullane.
