RICHIE RAMSAY will be partnered by an all-Lothians team in Wednesday’s Scottish Open Pro-Am.
Joining the Edinburgh-based player in the Aberdeen Asset Management event’s curtain-raiser this week will be Kingsknowe’s Gavin MacFarlane, Keith Liddle of Swanston New and Winterfield member James Finlay. MacFarlane, a 13-handicapper, secured his place in the team through winning the European Tour’s ‘Play Your Way to Gullane’ event at the East Lothian venue.
Liddle, who plays off six, joined him after winning a competition in the Edinburgh Evening News and its sister titles, The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday. And the line-up was completed when five-handicapper Finlay claimed the prize in a similar competition run by the Scottish Golf Union.
Three other players will be representing the Edinburgh Evening News/The Scotsman in a separate team.
Suzanne Ireland, who plays off ten, will be joining forces with nine-handicapper Andy Brown and Danny Allan (14) in that line-up, with their pro still to be determined.
They secured their spots as runners-up in the competition won by Liddle, who says that is “looking forward to his visit to Gullane on Wednesday to mingle with some of the world’s best players”.
