TWO rising Lothians stars received tips and career advice from Colin Montgomerie after being unveiled as part of a Gleneagles “Dream Team” of junior golfers.

Grace Crawford, an eight-year-old from North Berwick and a Gullane member, and Bathgate 15-year-old Ross Flanagan are among 13 aspiring golfers who have been selected for The Gleneagles Foundation’s inaugural 12-month scholarship programme.

Montgomerie, the 2010 Ryder Cup-winning captain and eight-times European No 1, helped launch the exciting new initiative by hosting a special event at the PGA National Academy at the Perthshire resort.

“I hope they will one day go on to achieve great things with the support of The Gleneagles Foundation – it’s imperative that we continue to nurture junior talent in golf,” he said,

The Foundation Players were selected after two Open Days, and will now have access to a range of benefits, including one year’s worth of coaching and tuition. “The Gleneagles Foundation because will set me on the right track to make me as good as I can be,” said Crawford.
