Edinburgh curlers Gina Aitken and Bruce Mouat are still on course for a hat-trick of Scottish Mixed Doubles titles after qualifying for the semi-finals at Glasgow’s Braehead Arena.

The two-time champions lost their opening match on Friday night, but won twice on Saturday before signing off yesterday with an 8-3 victory over Wendy Henderson and Jim Cullen.

Aitken and Mouat were second in Group B behind Rowena Kerr and Grant Hardie, the only team with a 100 per cent record, and the holders will now meet Group A winners Judith and Lee McCleary for a place in this afternoon’s final.

There was disappointment for the Aitken family when father and daughter pairing David and Karina missed out last night after a 7-6 play-off defeat to Lauren and Logan Gray.
