Edinburgh Capitals lost 6-3 to Braehead Clan in an Elite League clash in Glasgow tonight.

Former Capitals player-coach Richard Hartmann, who iced in his first game for almost a year and made his Clan debut after joining their coaching staff last summer, came back to haunt his old club.

The Slovakian picked up three assists in a man-of-the-match performance.

Edinburgh were heavily outshot 53-22 on the night and trailed 4-0 through strikes from Rick Jackman, Scott
Aarssen, Marcus Gotz and Brendan Brooks. They got on the board late in the second period with a goal from Brandon Thompson.

Alex Leavitt scored a fifth Clan goal early in the third period, Ned Lukacevic replied short-handed for Edinburgh, before Duncan Speirs – on loan from National Ice Hockey League side Solway Sharks – completed the scoring for Braehead. Lukacevic, with his second goal, made it 6-3 in the final minute.
