Edinburgh University hockey side take on Grange tomorrow at Fettes (11am) with both teams coming into the game on the back of victories.
Coach Graham Moodie and his assistant David Reid have guided the students into fourth place in ten-strong Division One.
Grange hammered second-bottom Dundee Wanderers 6-2 last weekend, while the University came from behind to see off bottom club Watsonians 3-1 at Peffermill.
Moodie said: “The boys played well in the last 15 minutes of the first half and during the second half against Watsonians. Naturally, we’ll look to continue that against Grange.”
Reflecting on their record of only one defeat in six games, Moodie said: “We’ve had a great start to the season so far. Grange are a good side, but I’m really looking forward to Saturday and we go into the game in a positive frame of mind.”
Grange sit two places and two points ahead of Moodie’s men, but they have a much superior goal difference.
Elsewhere, Inverleith host Hillhead (Peffermill, 4.45pm) and coach Bill Robson noted the Glasgow side’s 2-1 road win at Clydesdale last Saturday.
He added: “I believe they really stepped up and it was a good win for them. I felt we played well against Kelburne and we’re looking to take the positives out of that.”
Bottom club Watsonians seek their first points of the season at Aberdeen who have slipped to fifth in the table.
