New Scotland caps Sophie Hunter and Fiona Kennie return to domestic volleyball matters tomorrow for City of Edinburgh.
The Scottish champions host First Division newcomers NUVOC at Queensferry High School (10.30am) in the first round of the John Syer Trophy.
Hunter and Kennie helped Scotland defeat Ireland in five sets in Dublin last weekend and Scotland coach Craig Faill believes his team has set solid foundations for the future.
“We now have a group of players who can demonstrate a level of technical ability and game understanding that I haven’t seen for a long time. This is a young squad that is nowhere near its performance ceiling,” said Faill.
Also in the John Syer Trophy, Edinburgh Jets entertain North Lanarkshire in what is likely to be a tight encounter.
In the men’s John Syer Trophy, City of Edinburgh are at home to Bon Accord and Edinburgh Jets travel to City of Glasgow Ragazzi.
