Edinburgh judoka Sally Conway was brought back down to earth after her Baku Grand Slam triumph at the World Masters in Rabat, Morocco, writes RODDY MACKENZIE.

In an invitation-only competition featuring the top 16 in the world, Conway, who is ranked six in the world, lost her opening match to world No.7 Naranjargal Tsend Ayush from Mongolia in the Under-70kg.

Had she won, Conway would have faced current world champion Yuri Alvear (Colombia) in her next match.

Conway, who beat the world ranked No.1 Kim Polling in Baku this month, knew she would be up against it in Rabat with the best in the world vying for Olympic qualifying points.
