Curling: Aitken falls to Swedish nemesis again

Have your say

Curler Karina Aitken must be sick of the sight of Therese Westman after back-to-back defeats to the Swede sent Aitken tumbling out of the European Junior Tour event in Oslo.

The Murrayfield ace won two of her first three group matches, losing to Switzerland’s Melina Bezzola before beating Russian Evgeniya Demkina and Norway’s Eline Mjoen, but a closing 6-5 defeat by Westman put her quarter-final spot in jeopardy. The Swedish skip edged a tie-breaker 3-1.

Scot Cameron Bryce also failed to qualify, while compatriots Katie Murray and Robin Brydone reached the last eight.
