Lloyd Dignan scored four touchdowns as the Edinburgh Wolves beat second-placed Yorkshire Rams 35-0 in BAFA North Division 1.
Quarterback Jamie Morrison’s quick thinking after a block field goal saw him recover the ball and lay it off to Dignan, who tricked his way passed several defenders and into the endzone to open the scoring.
Stu Galloway added a second touchdown after finding space in the Rams defence, reeling in another pinpoint Morrison throw. Dignan then extended the lead further before half-time, using his pace to race clear of a covering defender.
The second half started in a similar vein as Morrison and Dignan combined with a couple of great passes to move further ahead as the pair rediscovered the link-up play that helped the Wolves reach the BritBowl final last year.
The Rams were limited in attack by a dominant Wolves defence, Jason Gray and Steve MacDonald’s powerful play helping ensure the visitors struggled to get any kind of momentum.
The victory means Wolves remain unbeaten this season with a 7-0 record.
