EDINBURGH rower Callum McBrierty has been named in the Great Britain squad for the 2015 World Championships in France in September.

McBrierty, 22, is in the men’s sweep team along with Inverness’ Alan Sinclair. In all, there are eight Scots included.

The Olympic, world and European champion women’s pair of Lossiemouth’s Heather Stanning and her partner Helen Glover will be looking to extend their four-year unbeaten run at Aiguebelette. Katherine Grainger continues her new double sculls partnership with Vicky Thornley.

Victoria Meyer-Laker, from Premnay in Aberdeenshire, continues in the women’s eight while European lightweight single sculls champion Imogen Walsh from Inverness continues in that boat-class. Kirriemuir’s Sam Scrimgeour, silver medallist at last year’s World Championships, has a new lightweight pairs partner in Joel Cassells.
