INVERLEITH go for a third straight Scottish indoor hockey title this weekend, looking for a boost ahead of their European adventure to Russia next week.

Sunday’s final at Bell’s Sports Centre, Perth comes ahead of the Capital side’s involvement in the EuroHockey Indoor Club Championship Trophy, from February 12-14 in Pavlovskii Posad.

Inverleith had an unblemished record in the Scottish indoor pool stages but know arch-rivals Grove Menzieshill have real dangermen in their side.

The match starts at 5pm but there are other local sides involved in Grand Finals Day from 9am. Admission is free.

Nine matches in total are on the packed programme. Grange face Uddingston in the Division One third-and-fourth place play-off. Watsonians are also involved in men’s play-off action. The Division Two side square up to Alpha Data Carnegie from Dunfermline for the right to face Western Wildcats for a coveted spot in Men’s Division 1.

Watsonians are on court at 9.05am and, if successful, will face Western at noon.
