Naomi Jones, from Edinburgh University, has won the Nottingham Building Society Archery GB National Series Final at Woollaton Hall.
The competition was a head-to-head format, where each archer shot 15 arrows and Naomi took on double Paralympic gold medalist Danielle Brown in the Compound women’s final, convincingly beating her 143-135.
“Danielle is a really good shooter but all you can do is focus on the arrows you shoot and it will either be good enough or it won’t be,” said Naomi.
There was success for Scottish Juniors, too, with Struan Caughey leading the Recurve mixed team comprising of Struan Caughey, Eva-Henderson-Hirst and Jack Masefield to gold in their fun event. They were pleased to receive a new bow as their prize. Scottish Junior Fraser Chape teamed up with Lizzie Martel to win the Junior mixed team compound division, both coached by Edinburgh University Archery performance coach Alistair Whittingham.
