Former NFL star Cecil Martin will host an American football training session tomorrow night at South Queensferry Rugby Club – the training base of the Edinburgh Wolves.
The ex-Philadelphia Eagles full back’s visit is part of a national tour as he passes on tips to male and female players of all abilities aged 14-28.
Martin said: “I wanted to create an event where an elite player could participate with someone brand new to the sport, and they both walk away better and having had a fun experience.”
Wolves head coach Don Edmonston is excited about the evening. He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in American football to come and work out with an experienced former NFL player. Having Cecil come and run an event is a massive boost for us and, with our next home game coming only three days later at Meadowbank, it will hopefully garner some interest in the city.
“We’re always trying to raise awareness of the Wolves be it with a potential player, coach or people to come along and watch us play.”
The session, which costs £35, will run from 6pm until 9.30pm. It will be non-contact and anyone interested in attending can turn up on the night.
