Inverleith hockey stalwart Adam Mackenzie today claimed the club could improve despite cruising to comfortable wins in three games ahead of the Christmas shutdown.

The Capital team remain in pole position in the race for the indoor Division One title with big wins over the opposition at Perth, pushing their goal average to more than ten.

Dundee Wanderers were dispatched 8-3 then Capital rivals Grange were demolished 10-4. It got better for Inverlieth who thrashed Glasgow side Hillhead 10-1. Mackenzie said: “We can get better.”

Dundee-based Grove Menzieshill also won three times and are level on 15 points with Inverleith, but Mackenzie added: “We’ve noted things to work on but we are scoring a lot of goals and playing really well. The team is certainly gelling but we will work on aspects of our game before the second-half of the campaign opens after Christmas.”
