Teenage motor racing driver Colin Noble junior, from Midlothian, ended this year’s Protyre Formula Renault Championship in style at Silverstone.

In the penultimate race Colin claims his first win of the season then followed up with a runners-up spot in the concluding race.

Having taken his first category pole position earlier in the day 18-year-old Colin delivered by taking the chequered flag just 0.060 seconds ahead of his nearest rival.

The podium finishes helped Colin to a highly creditable fifth place overall in his debut season in the Championship while his teram-mate, Pietro Fittipaldi, grandson of former Formula One world champion, Emerson Fittipaldi, was overall winner.

“The support I’ve had throughout, both from the MGR Motorsport team and my main sponsor, Alex F Noble Nissan, has been fantastic and with my first win finally under my belt it’s a great way to end the season. Hopefully we can carry winning momentum into next year,” said Colin.
