Holders Edinburgh Jets get a welcome distraction from their league troubles tomorrow when they host second division Glasgow Mets II in the men’s Scottish Volleyball Cup.

A win could put the Capital side into the quarter-finals as they bid to salvage something from a difficult season.

Jets beat Mets’ first team in last year’s final. Jets, who won the league and cup double last season, have won only two of their eight league matches this term and will take nothing for granted. Tomorrow’s fourth round has thrown up some interesting ties with City of Edinburgh travelling to non-league Volero, who will be no pushovers.

City of Edinburgh II, who squeezed into the draw despite a defeat by Orkney in the last round, entertain Edinburgh University.

Second division leaders NUVOC – who have won nine out of nine in the league – host Team Fife.

In the women’s cup, holders Edinburgh Jets take on Dundee University and Edinburgh University face the difficult trip to play first division North Lanarkshire.
