displaying the hallmark of champions as they close in on the men’s Schelde Sports
Scottish Volleyball League title.

The Capital side are showing the knack of winning matches in spite of not firing on all cylinders as was demonstrated again in Saturday’s 25-19, 25-21, 25-13 win over lowly South Ayrshire.

South Ayrshire played with some enterprise and threatened to capture a set but Edinburgh came up with the big points when it mattered to win comfortably enough in the end.

The weekend results all but settled the top four places for the play-offs with Glasgow Mets and City of Glasgow Ragazzi looking likely to miss out.

Edinburgh Jets won a tough four-set match with Mets to
remain joint second with
Kilmarnock Blaze.

But the defeat leaves Mets fifth in the table and six points behind Bon Accord, who beat Ragazzi in another tight match in Aberdeen.

In the women’s first division, there was no change at the top with leaders Troon Team Ayrshire taking care of North Lanarkshire and chasing City of Edinburgh overcoming South Ayrshire.

Edinburgh Jets overcame NUVOC in straight sets and it keeps the fight for play-off spots interesting.
