Scottish women’s volleyball champions City of Edinburgh look to complete a memorable season by winning the Celtic Cup at Wishaw Sports Centre later today.

The capital side won last year’s inaugural event in Northern Ireland and will start as favourites for the clash with the University of Ulster Jordanstown.

Edinburgh have already won the domestic league and cup this year and coach Nick Moody will look for one last push from his players.

Meanwhile, former City of Edinburgh middle player Mark McGivern aims to help Great Britain into the group of stages of the European Championships in Crawley tomorrow.

The GB team face Albania in their first round, second leg match having beaten the Albanians in straight sets in last weekend’s opener.

Head coach Harry Brokking is again without Mark Plotyczer who had a broken hand but is expected to return to training within the next fortnight.
