Edinburgh Jets get the chance to measure up to Su Ragazzi tomorrow in the women’s Scottish Volleyball League and see how strong the threat is from the west.
It is only the third weekend of the league season, but already Ragazzi, boosted by the signing of Great Britain Olympic captain Lynne Beattie, are looking like the team to beat.
The Glasgow club blew away Aberdonia in their opening match, then came from behind to beat Troon Team Ayrshire with room to spare.
Given that Troon had already beaten defending champions City of Edinburgh and, last weekend, beat Jets in the John Syer Trophy, it shows the power that awaits at St Augustine’s High tomorrow.
But Jets have proved formidable at home in 2014 and aim to put a spanner in the works.
City of Edinburgh face Aberdonia in Bucksburn with the first ball served at 10.45am.
In the men’s division one, Edinburgh Jets host City of Glasgow Ragazzi, with both teams two points behind early pacesetters South Ayrshire.
City of Edinburgh look for their first league win of the season at Beacon Fire.
