NUVOC are celebrating winning the men’s Division Two title in record time after beating Lenzie 25-15, 25-18, 25-13 in the Scottish Volleyball League.

The Capital side, who are also through to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, have only dropped one set on their way to the title.

NUVOC still have four league matches to play but cannot be caught by joint second-placed Su Ragazzi II or City of Edinburgh II even if they lose all four. Their set difference is so superior – won 36, lost one – that they have built up an unassailable lead.

City of Edinburgh II gave them a helping hand by beating Su Ragazzi II 25-16, 25-9, 25-13. NUVOC have already shown themselves capable of holding their own against Division One opposition in the cup, so will be relishing the prospect of playing in the top flight again next season.
