The Edinburgh Wolves have secured a place at the BAFA National Division 1 BritBowl final for the third season in a row following a comprehensive 35-0 victory over the Kent Exiles.
The Exiles made the 900-mile round trip in vain as Wolves’ running back Steve Wilson ran riot. He opened the scoring in the first quarter following an excellent fast-paced drive. He ran in for another touchdown early in the second quarter before Adam Ingram extended the lead before the half. The Wolves continued to dominate after the break and Wilson added another three touch-downs.
The win also secures promotion for the Wolves, who will play in the Premiership next season for the first time.
Head coach Don Edmonston said: “Ten years of hard work came down to 60 minutes of effort from everyone. We can’t wait to test ourselves against Britain’s elite and we relish the challenge, but for now we have one more game to complete a perfect season.”
Wolves now face Bury Saints in the BritBowl final on Sunday, August 28 in Leeds, having lost the showpiece event in the past two seasons.
