The Edinburgh Wolves had to survive a late fightback to hold on for a 30-23 victory at the Manchester Titans in BAFA National Division 1.

The Wolves were missing a number of key players through injury but got on the board first when Lloyd Dignan kicked a field goal. Quarterback Jamie Morrison then found Dignan with a short pass as the wide receiver raced into the end zone to extend Edinburgh’s lead.

Steve Wilson kept up his impressive form at running back, racking up a number of yards for his side, before adding the Wolves’ second touchdown of the afternoon. However the Titans pulled one back with a long throw from Alan Mead being caught in the endzone just before half-time.

Morrison found Dignan once again to further extend Wolves’ lead before Stephen McFarlane added the fourth touchdown for the Wolves.

As the game went into the fourth quarter, the Titans found their form and mounted a fightback to cut Edinburgh’s lead to just seven points. However, they ran out of time and the Wolves claimed victory to move to 8-0 for the season.
