The player whose last-minute try gave Edinburgh Accies a bonus-point win at Boroughmuir to take them into the British and Irish Cup next season intends to carry on where he left off next week as Scotland Under-20s step up their preparations for a World Championship bid.
The young Scots go into camp ahead of a series of matches starting with Argentina in Nantes on June 5 and at their core will be full-back Ruairidh Young.
The Telford College student has been one of the stand-outs in the Premiership and aims to build on that in pursuit of a full-time contract.
Young said: “Having coaches of the calibre of Sean Lineen and Simon Cross means there is plenty of knowledge for me to draw on.
“I joined Accies two years ago from Musselburgh whom I helped win a Scottish Under-16 Cup and, having had a spell out with a bulging disc, I have enjoyed being part of the club’s plans.
“Scoring the try which clinched the B&I Cup place was great but it was others who did the groundwork, leaving me to get on the end of a pass.”
