Edinburgh Rugby coach Alan Solomons believes the team have turned a corner in reaching the break for Autumn internationals ninth in the RaboDirect Pro 12 League. A weekend win over Zebre ensured back-to-back Edinburgh victories for the first time since March and Solomons believes that is an indication of the players coming to terms with the systems and tactics he has introduced since taking over in August.
On being appointed, South African Solomons said he would wait two months until passing judgment. After the 25-23 success against Zebre he said: “We should have had a try bonus point (but) this is a team that is probably in the infancy of its development.
“We have had the two months, had our pre-season, guys are now au fait with the systems, with the defensive systems, the kicking game, the type of game we want to play. The players have worked really, really hard, they have improved as a team, they are starting to understand and value the way you have to play if you want to win.
“I have a good understanding of where we are.”
