EDINBURGH RUGBY head coach Alan Solomons has made five changes from the team that defeated Gloucester on Sunday for tonight’s clash with Leinster, but the South African insisted that rotation is vital if Edinburgh were to get wins on the board,

Solomons has brought in Nick De Luca, Greig Laidlaw, Ally Dickinson, Ollie Atkins and David Denton for Joaquin Dominguez, Grayson Hart, Wicus Blaauw, Izak van der Westhuizen and Tomas Leonardi.

“To do well in competition you need a good squad and you need depth within that squad,” explained the South African. “We played Gloucester and have a five-day turnaround; then there’s a six-day turnaround for Glasgow followed by another six-day turnaround.

“Players last week had an opportunity to showcase their talent and they did that very well, but we are all part of a squad.

“Gloucester is now past and we are facing a very powerful Leinster, probably the top side in Europe.”

Leinster have also shaken their team up, but can call upon Lions Brian O’Driscoll and Luke Fitzgerald.
