Edinburgh and Scotland rugby star David Denton is being linked with a shock move away from the Capital to English Premiership giants, Leicester Tigers.
According to the Rugby Paper, a weekly which has just started publishing north of the Border and is looking to establish a circulation, the 14-times capped back row is the man wanted by Tigers to replace out-of-contract Thomas Waldrom.
Denton is believed to be out of contract himself at the end of this season and, aged 23, is approaching the peak of his rugby powers having returned refreshed this season from an injury-hampered 2012-13 campaign.
Meanwhile, Springboks coach Heyneke Meyer has warned his Springbok side to beware Scotland after naming a squad for a European tour which includes a date at Murrayfield on November 17.
“This year Scotland finished third in the Six Nations, and in our two Tests against them in the last two seasons they have been a tough nut to crack,” said Meyer today.
“We’re not expecting anything different at Murrayfield.”
