Pressure group Change for Scottish Rugby have held talks with the governing body as fans keen to see alternative strategies provide momentum on social media.

This contributed to the SRU communications department contacting organiser Ross Forsyth and today their web-site reported of last night’s talks: “There was some productivity but not much.

“Their key point was they want us to move forward, working together not apart. Sadly what they think that means is we have to agree with them. If we don’t agree them we are not working together and it is bad for the game. Yet when we said the vast majority of the Scottish rugby community do not want to see an influx of foreign players, and it is in fact the SRU that are not working with us, they couldn’t respond.”

It was also reported that “the SRU will welcome any private investment into the Scottish pro game”.
