Edinburgh Rugby centre Matt Scott was today singled out as the big threat to Glasgow maintaining a RaboDirect PRO12 surge in Saturday’s derby clash at Scotstoun.
As the sides reach the business end of the campaign, Glasgow are flying high in search of another win that could mean a top-two finish and a home play-off semi-final.
For Edinburgh, the occasion will be all about pride and acquiring the two points needed to surpass last season’s league tally.
However, Glasgow hooker Pat MacArthur is warning against complacency and said of a rival who has scored tries in each of his last three outings: “Matt Scott has been playing really well for Edinburgh since coming back from injury and he’s been scoring some tries.”
MacArthur also insisted: “Form goes out the window in a derby match and we’re treating this as a one-off huge game.”
• Any Edinburgh prospect of taking on board out-of-favour Glasgow and Scotland stand-off Ruairdh Jackson appears to have been dashed. The player is poised to join Wasps, according to reports in today’s English press.
