Former academy player at Edinburgh Rugby, Stevie McColl, will be performing in England’s Premiership next season after today joining Gloucester from Leeds Carnegie.
The move comes at the end of a season in which full back McColl, 25, who started at Dunfermline, was called into Scotland’s squad for the Autumn Tests without managing to progress to a cap debut.
Gloucester coach Nigel Davies said: “He was part of the Edinburgh academy at one stage and moved to get more opportunities.”
• A DEAL on the future of the new European Rugby Cup has been delayed until next week after the Italians requested more time to consider financial implications. The delay is not expected to threaten a new-look competition in which only the winners of Celtic, French and English leagues are seeded and broadcasters BT and Sky have agreed to share television rights with both covering the final.
