Heriot’s will face two Glasgow professionals when they tackle Glasgow Hawks in Saturday’s Scottish rugby cup final at Cumbernauld.
Hawks today became the first team to declare their line-up and opted to include uncapped pair Fin Gillies at hooker and flanker Tyrone Holmes under a Cup ruling that permits pros when Premiership rivals clash.
Also back on the bench for Hawks after Scotland sevens duty is Neil Herron.
Referring to the artificial surface, Hawks coach Jamie Dempsey said: “A fantastic opportunity on an excellent pitch against a very good Heriot’s side awaits us. Our games have been exciting throughout the season against each other and Phil Smith and Steve Lawrie have done a tremendous job in developing their squad over the last two years.”
Hawks team: Smart, Steven, Maclay, Steele, McPherson, Lowe, Boyer, Findlay, Gillies, Cullinane, Linton, captain, Hamilton, Holmes, Kirkland, Leckie. Subs: Macfarlane, Lohoar, Williamson, Bartoszek, Beattie, Milne, Herron.
