Max Learmonth is preparing to play it at least one more time tomorrow at the end of “an eternal” rugby season.
The Scottish clubs’ international threequarter will turn out in the Edinburgh Sevens and Sports Festival, which is expected to draw a four-figure crowd to Meggetland before the curtain falls on a campaign that started last July at Rotherham Titans.
Learmonth had a trial with the English Championship club before deciding to return to Heriot’s, where his consistency and flair was rewarded with the “player of the season” prize.
Inevitably, his pace and prowess meant being an automatic choice for the Spring sevens circuit and that continued into an Edinburgh 10-a-side event last week which he won with the select side, Foul Fashion.
They have entered the social tournament at a Meggetland, which also a includes Premier League sevens tournament featuring Scottish Thistles as well as beach volleyball and hockey.
Learmonth says: “I really have to fit in some recovery time, but it’s proving difficult with an invite to play in the Rugby Rocks tournament in Edinburgh next week.”
