Preston Lodge made it ten wins from ten matches on Saturday when they defeated North Berwick in a very entertaining RBS East One encounter.
The home side won 37-20 at the Pennypit with the East Lothian sides sharing eight tries. With PL scoring six of them it means that they have 50 points from a possible 50.
This week the men on the scoresheet for them were Peter Johnstone, Paul Voy (2), Jason Riley, Blair Robertson and Scott Rodgers with tries while Graeme Patterson kicked the rest.
North Berwick’s tries came from Matt Sanderson and Brian Buchanan with Grant Craig kicking ten points in a defeat that leaves them fourth in the table.
RHC are still second after they got their sixth league win on the spin, 36-5 at Portobello.
Dunbar are 15 points behind PL in third, but on Saturday played some of their best rugby of the campaign to thump Langholm 95-0.
Linlithgow’s game at Hawick Linden was off, but they were celebrating after Adam Kelly’s try from a match in October was named RBS Try of the Month.
Like PL, Dalkeith have won ten from ten and continue to head up RBS East Two.
On Saturday they defeated Berwick 35-22, but Forrester could not close the gap on the Scremerston men in second as they lost at Trinity Accies 36-7.
There were also wins for Edinburgh Northern, Leith and Inverleith.
Liberton are third in RBS East Three, defeating Broughton 51-7 while Ross High lost 31-8 to St Boswells.
