All-conquering Preston Lodge are hoping tomorrow to take a further step towards fulfilling their target of four trophies when they visit Irvine in the semi-final of the RBS Shield.

PL have already wrapped up East Division One in unbeaten fashion with one fixture remaining and captured the regional shield with a victory at RHC Cougars last weekend.

Skipper Blair Cowan said: “We have the East Lothian Cup final against North Berwick outstanding and if we were to complete a clean sweep no PL team will ever have had a season like it.”

Irvine lead the way in West Division One having lost only three games all season. The winners will meet either Caithness or Berwick in the national Shield final and if PL get through they can draw on the experience of two previous appearances at club rugby’s showpiece occasion.
