Graeme Patterson scored 30 points to lead Preston Lodge to an emphatic RBS Edinburgh Regional Shield pool stage victory over Forrester on Saturday.
The East Lothian side, having already won RBS East One, will be keen to win this knock-out event and the national Shield and they made a good start on the long road to Murrayfield at the weekend.
PL won this Pool Two tie 95-0, Patterson running in two tries and kicking ten conversions for a great day on a personal level for him at the Pennypit.
Chris Thomas, Scott Rodgers, Jason Riley and Darren Eales all also scored two tries apiece with five other players also crossing on a one-sided afternoon.
In Pool Four, Trinity Accies defeated Edinburgh Northern 19-13 in a match moved to Bangholm. Teenager Callum Ramm was amongst Trinity’s try scorers in that one.
All other Edinburgh Regional Shield matches were postponed, leaving some clubs with a slight fixture pile up.
In the RBS Edinburgh Regional Bowl, Liberton and Broughton made it through to the semi-finals. Liberton enjoyed a 16-3 home win over RDVC, while Broughton progress after Moray House forfeited their quarter-final.
