The father of Scotland stand off Finn Russell today landed a major administrative role at BT Murrayfield.
Keith Russell has been appointed Director of Domestic Rugby and will move from his present job as Head of Sport at Glasgow Life.
During his ten years at that organisation, formed to manage Glasgow’s sport, cultural and community facilities, Russell is credited with helping establish Scotstoun as the home of Glasgow Warriors.
He has two other rugby-playing sons.
Scottish Rugby’s Chief Executive, Mark Dodson said: “We are very pleased to announce this important appointment. Development of our game is a strategic priority for us and Keith’s leadership in nurturing sustainable rugby activity and partnerships across the school and club game will be fundamental to the ongoing expansion of our sport.”
