Young Scots lose to Samoa in Junior World Championships

Have your say

Scotland lost their second match in the IRB Junior World Championships as they were defeated 27-18 by Samoa in Pukekohe today.

Tries by Edinburgh Accies duo Jamie Farndale and Sam Pecqueur, and Jamie Ritchie (Howe of Fife/Edinburgh), weren’t enough to hold off the Samoans.

The result leaves Scotland bottom of Pool C following a heavy defeat to South Africa in their opening match.

The young Scots conclude their group games with a clash against hosts New Zealand on Tuesday.
