Edinburgh snooker hotshots Craig MacGillivray (Granton) and Ross Vallance (Corstorphine) meet in the final of the Scottish Open, Main Tour Event 5, at the Locarno Snooker Club tonight.
MacGillivray, ranked No 1 in the Scottish standings, qualified comfortably at the Red Triangle club in Cumbernauld after defeating Michael Collumb 4-0 in the semi-final to extend his lead at the top of the season rankings.
Vallance reached his first final of the season after impressive victories over Glasgow pair Paul McPhillips and Gary Thomson.
The final starts at 6.30pm and will be played over the best of 11 frames.
Meanwhile, professionals Michael Leslie (Bonnyrigg) and Ross Muir (Musselburgh) are in action today in China at Asian tour Event 4. Leslie faces fellow Scot Alan McManus, whilst Muir is up against China’s Long Yun.
