LOTHIANS snooker pro Michael Leslie will focus solely on his own game tonight as he tries to upset Chinese ace Liang Wenbo in the last 64 of the williamhill.com UK Championship at The Barbican in York.
Bonnyrigg set up his clash with Wenbo with terrific comeback from 4-0 against England’s world No. 39 Jack Lisowski to win 6-4, but while Leslie was made to fight all the way for his victory, Wenbo, the world No. 26, came within only six pots of making the 100th maximum break in snooker history after missing the yellow during a 6-2 win over Elliot Slessor, narrowly missing out on a bonus of £59,000 prize on offer for a maximum.
“I was on the table next to him the other day when it looked like he was going to make a maximum break,” said Leslie. “However, I try not to worry about my opponent. It is more important that I focus more on my own game and if I play well and take any chances, then I will have a good chance.”
