Bonnyrigg’s Michael Leslie lost on the final black of the deciding frame to Welshman Dominic Dale at the last 64 stage of the Haikou World Open in China yesterday.
After the first four frames were shared, Leslie won the fifth before a break of 96 in the sixth extended his lead to 4-2.
However, Dale won the next two frames comfortably to take the match to a decider. Dale led the final frame with one red left, before Leslie took the match to a black ball game by potting up to the pink, however after a safety exchange Dale potted a long back to secure victory.
Scotland’s Scott Donaldson lost 5-1 to China’s Liang Wenbo, the world No. 21 was in impressive form making breaks of 54, 111 and 67.
