Bonnyrigg snooker professional Michael Leslie reached the last-64 stage of the Paul Hunter Classic, European Tour Event 2, in Germany, before losing out to world No.5 Barry Hawkins.

Leslie opened up with a 4-2 victory over qualifier Jack Bradford. He recovered from losing the opening frame to win the next three frames and, although Bradford won the next, Leslie took the sixth frame for a 4-2 victory.

Leslie started well against Hawkins. After sharing the first two frames, Leslie made a break of 82 to lead. However, Hawkins showed his experience to win the next three frames, including a break of 68 in the fifth.

Scott Donaldson made it to the last 32. After impressive victories, defeating Joe Swail 4-2 and Li Hang 4-3, Donaldson lost out 4-1 to fellow Scot Alan McManus.

Ross Muir was defeated the opening round, narrowly losing 4-3 to Welshman Matthew Stevens.
