Musselburgh teenager Ross Muir set up a dream clash with world No. 7 Ding Junhui in the last 32 of the Asian Tour Event 2 in Yixing, China after defeating China’s Pen Weixing 4-1.

After the first two frames were shared, Muir won a tight third frame with a break of 44 to lead 2-1 before winning the next two frames to secure a 4-1 victory. Muir will need to be at his best against Junhui, who won the Shanghai Masters last weekend.

Scott Donaldson is also through after breaks of 52, 41, 35 and 64 in a 4-2 victory over England’s Matthew Selt and now plays China’s Ma Tingpeng.
