Ross Muir loses out to ‘Sheriff of Pottingham’

Musselburgh’s Ross Muir lost out to Nottingham’s Anthony Hamilton in the opening round of qualifying for the German Masters snooker at the Metrodome in Barnsley.

The 18-year-old made a promising start, winning the opening two frames, but he then lost the next four to trail 4-2. Muir made an excellent break of 102 in he seventh frame but Hamilton pocketed the next frame to secure a 5-3 victory.

Meanwhile, Bonnyrigg snooker professional Michael Leslie faces tour opposition today when he meets world No. 8 Shaun Murphy from England.

Locarno Snooker Club’s Scott Donaldson will be hoping for revenge when he meets England’s Joe Perry. Perry defeated Donaldson at the last-32 stage of the UK championship last week.
