Granton snooker ace Craig MacGillivray experienced double disappointment at the World Team Masters Championship in Ireland.
MacGillivray was partnered by Stirling’s Jim Rushforth and the duo took control of the semi-final against Belgium, both winning the opening singles matches, before the Belgians won the doubles match to reduce the lead to 2-1. MacGillivray then lost his reverse singles tie before Rushforth suffered the agony of defeat on the black ball in the deciding frame. The Belgians went on to lose the final 5-0 to England.
Prior to the semi-final, MacGillivray’s good run in the 6-Reds tournament came to an end, losing 4-2 to Ireland’s Michael Judge.
