Capital potter Robert Carlisle will be aiming to extend his lead at the top of the Scottish Main Tour rankings this evening when he faces Glasgow’s Scott MacFarlane in the final of Main Tour Event 3 at the Locarno Snooker Club in Edinburgh.

Carlisle, who won event 2, survived a final frame decider to edge Edinburgh’s Graeme Allan in the last 32 on Sunday before defeating Glasgow’s Chris Totten 3-1 to reach the quarter-finals. A convincing 3-0 whitewash of Falkirk’s Barry Wraith set Carlisle up with a semi-final clash against Glasgow’s Paul McPhillips, with the Edinburgh man coming out on top again in a 3-1 win.

MacFarlane defeated Edinburgh’s Lee Mein 3-2 before a 3-1 victory over Edinburgh’s David Greig. Granton’s Craig MacGillivray lost 3-1 to Glasgow’s Dylan Craig in the last 16. Craig went on to reach the semi-final before losing out in a deciding frame to MacFarlane.

Tonight’s match starts at 7pm.
