Lothian cueists Craig MacGillivray and Derek Dudgeon both enjoyed comfortable victories at the IBSF World Snooker Masters Championships in Bangalore, India.

MacGillivray maintained his 100 per cent record by defeating Thailand’s Chuchart Trairattanapradit. After a close opening frame, MacGillivray’s Thai opponent scored only one point in the last two frames as MacGillivray pocketed a 3-0 victory.

With one game to play today against Ireland’s Stephen Walsh, the Granton ace is now almost certain to top his group.

Dudgeon continued his good form after his opening match defeat, winning his third match in succession as he defeated Ireland’s Tom O’Driscoll to qualify from his group in third position.

Three Lothian professionals are in action today at the Barbican in York as they bid to qualify for the final stages of the UK championships. Michael Leslie plays England’s Robert Milkins, Ross Muir faces former World champion Peter Ebdon while Scott Donaldson is up against fellow Scot Marcus Campbell.
