Bonnyrigg’s Michael Leslie put in a fine performance to reach the last 32 of the Ruhr Open in Germany, event three of the European Tour Championship.

Leslie opened up with a 4-3 victory over Thailand’s Dechawat Poomjaeng, before making breaks of 60 and 74 in another 4-3 win over China’s Lyu Chenwei, who had earlier defeated Edinburgh’s Scott Donaldson by the same scoreline.

However, Leslie’s good run ended in the next round, losing 4-1 to World No.8 Barry Hawkins.

Musselburgh’s Ross Muir lost 4-3 to England’s Jack Lisowski in the first round.
