Edinburgh Monarchs will race their 500th speedway meeting since moving to Armadale Stadium in 1997 and plan to celebrate with a special Legends Night.
The landmark occasion coincides with Monarchs’ Premier League clash against Plymouth Devils on Friday, June 26 and plans have been set to mark the event in style.
Moreover, by the time 2016 arrives, Monarchs will have spent 20 years at their Lothian Arena home, their longest unbroken spell of racing since their 19-year tenure at Powderhall Stadium in Edinburgh, which began in 1977.
A club spokesman said: “Our greatest successes, including all four of our league championship crowns, have been achieved at Armadale and we will be joined on the night by many of the riders who made it possible.
“We will also have special admission prices and giveaways for everyone.”
And the club also confirmed that all primary school children will be admitted free for the meeting at the end of the month to celebrate the start of the summer holidays.
