MAX FRICKE is chasing a major events speedway double when he takes his place in the Edinburgh Monarchs quartet who defend their Premier League Fours crown at Peterborough on Sunday.
The Aussie youngster combined with compatriot Sam Masters to scoop the Premier League Pairs title at Somerset earlier this month and the duo are now joined by Craig Cook and Stevie Worrall for the east of England showpiece gathering, which is sure to attract a big crowd.
Fricke said: “For me and Sam to come away from Somerset as Pairs champions was awesome and a great experience for us both.
“Hopefully we can carry that confidence through to the Fours and do the same again.
“Peterborough isn’t a track I have ridden that much, though I have enjoyed my visits there before. I think it could be an interesting afternoon.”
Masters said: “I’m looking forward to it – I think we have a really good chance of coming out on top again, but we are in quite a tough group.
“Berwick, especially, are riding quite well right now, but we will all give it our best shot.”
Monarchs have been drawn in Qualifying Group 2 alongside Workington Comets, Redcar Bears, and Berwick Bandits.
